A potential Canada Post service disruption may delay birth certificate processes. This includes:
- Delivery of certificates requested prior to a service disruption
- Delivery of paper applications sent via Canada Post
To help avoid delays:
- Apply online – Order certificates online.
- Apply by courier - If you aren't able to apply online, send your paper form by courier.
- Request courier delivery – You may be able to request delivery by courier (within Saskatchewan) for your certificate for an additional fee. Please call our office for more information.
- Visit in person – In Regina, order and pay for certificates at our front desk, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding holidays).

Check the Status of your Order
If you recently ordered a Birth Certificate or Commemorative Stillbirth Certificate, you can
check the status of your order at any time.
To do so, you need:
- The Postal Code submitted with the certificate order
And, one of the following:
- Order receipt ID
- Email address provided in the certificate order, or
- Applicant's full name (as entered in the certificate order)
If you do not have the required information, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Please note: There are third-party websites that offer services to obtain Saskatchewan vital event certificates i.e. birth certificates for an additional cost. Those websites are not associated with eHealth Saskatchewan and if you choose to use them we are unable to provide any information related to your order. We recommend you apply directly through this website to ensure your order is processed without delay or additional fees.
