Adoption Information

If you have adopted a child, you can apply for a Birth Certificate.

For pre-adoption information, please contact the provincial or territorial agency where the adoption occurred to find out what information can be released. In Saskatchewan, contact the Ministry of Social Services.

Improved Access to Birth Registration Information

As of January 1, 2017 the Government of Saskatchewan is making changes to the release of an adult adoptee’s birth registration that affects:

  • adult adoptees;
  • birth parents of adoptees;
  • adult children of a deceased adult adoptee; and
  • adult children of a deceased birth parent whose child was placed for adoption.

Find out more information by visiting the Post-Adoption Services webpage.
