Saskatchewan Health Cards

All Saskatchewan residents must register themselves and their dependents for a Saskatchewan Health Card in order to receive health benefits.

The Saskatchewan Health Card is a valuable personal identification card that you should be prepared to present whenever you need health services.

Health Card applications are usually processed within six to eight weeks after we receive your application—not including mailing time.

Applications are always processed in the order they are received.

If you submit your request online, you can log into your online account to check the status of your request. When your online application is processed, we will send you an email advising you of when you can expect to receive your Health Card. We will also send you an email if you are missing any required information on your application.

We appreciate your patience as we work towards processing all requests.

Organ Donation

Saskatchewan Organ and Tissue Donor Registry has replaced the Organ Donor stickers and Intention to Donate cards previously distributed with health card renewal packages.

Register online.

Speak to your family about your wishes to be a donor. In Saskatchewan, organs and tissues will not be donated without your family or next-of-kin's consent.

Get more information about organ and tissue donation.

2023 is a health card renewal year.  Renewal stickers are being mailed to all eligible residents this fall. You should receive your package by October 31. Make sure your personal information is up to date to ensure health coverage. When you receive your health card renewal package place your renewal sticker on the right-hand corner of your health card to renew your health coverage to December 31, 2026.
