Social media statement
eHealth Saskatchewan uses social media to interact with Saskatchewan residents and highlight content shared on our website. We’re active on LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo. Our team moderates these channels to keep conversations respectful, productive and on topic. We welcome your comments and expect conversations to be courteous and friendly.
Our social media accounts are monitored Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding statutory holidays. If you’re experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. If you need health advice, contact your health care provider or call 811.
Your privacy
We take your privacy and security very seriously. Please don’t share personal information or personal health information (health services number, social insurance number, home address, etc.) with us through social media. We remove posts or comments that include personal information to protect your privacy, but you should always exercise your judgement about the kind of information you share.
Our team can’t address account, app, certificate, or service issues through social media, but we can help direct you to the right contact or support channel. Our social media accounts are hosted on third-party platforms that are outside our control. You participate at your own risk, taking personal responsibility for your posts, your username and any information you provide. We cannot be held accountable for personal information posted by users.
We won’t ask for personal or confidential information from you through our social media accounts and we will never ask for money. Social media interactions may be collected, stored or used according to applicable privacy, access to information and records management requirements.
Availability
Our channels are monitored during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. We do our best to respond to questions when appropriate, but we may not reply to every comment or direct message. To report a technical issue or request help with an eHealth service, use the official contact or support options listed on our website.
Content
eHealth is not directly involved in providing health care and we are unable to update your lab results, fast track a referral, or find you a family doctor. Information on our social media channels is for information only and should not replace consultations with your doctor or other health care professionals. No content on our accounts should be relied upon for any health care or medical decisions.
We may share links to websites or resources that are not managed by eHealth. eHealth is not responsible for the content, privacy practices or accuracy of those websites. We try to make our social media content accessible. If you need information in another format, contact us.
Followers and following
Our decision to follow any social media user doesn’t imply an endorsement of any kind. The appearance of a social media user as a follower of the eHealth accounts doesn’t imply endorsement.
Commenting
Our social media channels are public, so any comments or messages you leave may be visible to others, copied, shared, or saved by other users. We expect that conversations and comments are respectful and reserve the right to remove or hide comments that are:
- obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, racist, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting, life-threatening, discriminatory, or hateful
- abusive, aggressive, coarse, explicit, vulgar, violent, obscene, or pornographic
- encouraging illegal activity
- disrespectful or violating the privacy of others
- advertising or endorsing any financial, commercial or non-governmental agencies or products
- repetitive posts copied and pasted by one or multiple users
- irrelevant to the topic at hand
- posted anonymously or by robot accounts
Users who repeatedly violate these guidelines may be blocked or reported to the social media platform, so the channels can stay informative and supportive.
