A Canada Post service disruption may delay birth certificate processes. This includes:

  • Delivery of certificates requested prior to a service disruption
  • Delivery of paper applications sent via Canada Post

To help avoid delays:

  • Apply online – Order certificates online
  • Apply by courier - If you aren't able to apply online, send your paper form by courier. 
  • Request courier delivery – Documents being delivered to a street address in Saskatchewan can be sent by courier for an additional fee of $30. Purolator currently picks up packages from our office Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). For documents being delivered to an address outside of Saskatchewan you will need to make your own arrangements with a courier service. Please call our office for more information. 
  • Visit in person – In Regina, order and pay for certificates at our front desk, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (excluding holidays)
