MySaskHealthRecord is a secure website that enables Saskatchewan residents, 14 years of age and older, to quickly and easily access their personal health information.Those who sign up can access their personal health information including laboratory test results, medical imaging reports, immunization history, prescription history and clinical visit history (displayed as inpatient, outpatient or emergency visits to a health care facility). All personal information in MySaskHealthRecord is stored securely and can only be accessed through a highly secure, personalized login .


 

  • Improved patient care: Having key patient information available electronically allows health care providers to make more timely and informed decisions that benefit all patients, especially those who have recently changed doctors, moved within Saskatchewan, or need medical attention while traveling.
  • A smarter health care system for all: The improved flow of vital patient information online will help transform Saskatchewan’s overall health care system. Patients are the ultimate beneficiaries because MySaskHealthRecord allows them to be more engaged and responsible for their own health.
  • Patient expressed value: Feedback received from patients during the Citizen Health Information Portal (CHIP) pilot found that having quick and easy access to their personal health information improved the management and understanding of their overall health, enhanced their relationship with their health care providers, helped them feel more involved in their own care and decision-making and reduced stress and anxiety.

 



You can access MySaskHealthRecord on computers, tablets and smartphones. Please note that MySaskHealthRecord is not an app, and can only be viewed through a browser.





To sign up for MySaskHealthRecord you must:

  • Be a Saskatchewan resident 14 years of age or older; AND
  • Have an active Saskatchewan health card; AND
  • Have a valid Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) driver’s licence or SGI photo ID card.

To sign up for MySaskHealthRecord, you must have an active Saskatchewan health card and a valid Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) driver’s licence or SGI photo ID card.


Your health card information needs to be up-to-date with eHealth Saskatchewan, including your full name, date of birth, and current mailing address. To ensure your health card information is up-to-date, please visit eHealthSask.ca or contact the Service Desk at 1-800-667-7551.



If you were not born in Canada, your legal entitlement document may only have a last name and no first name listed (i.e. Last Name: John Jacob Smith, First Name: [BLANK]). If this is the case, your SGI driver’s licence or SGI photo ID card may only have the last name listed on the card.


For Saskatchewan health cards, both the last name and first name fields must be filled in. eHealth Saskatchewan’s standard is to enter the last name into the first name field if you don’t have a first name (i.e. Last Name: John Jacob Smith, First Name: John Jacob Smith). Please enter your last name into both the last name and first name fields if this situation applies to you when you complete the health card information during registration.

Within your MySaskHealthRecord, you can use the “Report an Error” link that is located on the right hand side of the website if you believe your health information is either incorrect or does not belong to you. You will be asked to provide details about the suspected error, which will initiate an investigation by the Citizen Services team.



MySaskHealthRecord displays information as it is made available in the provincial database. If you appear to be missing a result and/or report, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The specific report or result is not currently available in the provincial repository. This includes, but is not limited to, reports related to: 

    • Echocardiograms
    • Holter Monitor Testing
    • Gastroscopy/Endoscopy/Colonoscopy

  • Clinic/location does not send its information to the provincial database at this time. Although the majority of hospitals/clinics are available, there are locations throughout the province that have not yet integrated and are unavailable to display.

You cannot delete or modify any of your provincially sourced information. You can, however, modify or delete information that was entered yourself or uploaded from a device.




No, health care providers will not be able to access your MySaskHealthRecord account or any of their patients' MySaskHealthRecord accounts. However, you may use a mobile tablet or smartphone to show your health care provider your health information in MySaskHealthRecord, if you choose to do so.

Upon completing the MySaskHealthRecord registration, historical provincial health data may take up to 24 hours to load to your account. After initial registration, results are updated in real time as they become finalized from the source systems, with the exception of pathology results. There is a four-day delay on pathology results to provide time for healthcare providers to review these potentially sensitive results to help support next steps.

Upon successful registration, there will be a historical data load into MySaskHealthRecord from each of the following areas:

  • Clinical Visit History: Three year history
  • Laboratory Test Results: Three year history
  • Medical Imaging Reports: Three year history
  • Immunization History: Complete history as collected from the provincial immunization registry
  • Prescription History: 25 month history 


 

Saskatchewan residents who register for a MySaskHealthRecord account, will have the ability to add and track health information from a variety of data sources in your MySaskHealthRecord account. Each data source type will display as a distinct colour to differentiate where the information comes from. The three data source types are:

  • Provincial Health Data-Three years of historical data will be loaded upon successful registration, unless otherwise stated (Green):

    • Clinical Visit History – Visit information displayed as inpatient, outpatient or emergency as collected from health care facilities from the Saskatchewan Health Authority with a registration system.
    • Laboratory Results Electronic results from the Saskatchewan Health Authority laboratories. It is important to note that some labs do not produce electronic results; those results may not be included in MySaskHealthRecord.
    • Medical Imaging Reports Finalized diagnostic reports provided from the Saskatchewan Health Authority and some private radiology organizations.
    • Immunization History Information collected during an immunization event, and information collected during an investigation of a communicable disease (including related immunizations) as found in the provincial immunization registry, Panorama.
    • Prescription History Information recorded in community pharmacies and healthcare organizations across Saskatchewan as found in the provincial Pharmaceutical Information Program (PIP).

         

  • Device Entered Data (Orange):

    • You can connect your personal health and fitness applications or devices, such as an activity tracker or blood glucose monitor to sync and upload data into your MySaskHealthRecord.

       

  • Self-Entered Data (Yellow):

    • You can manually enter your own personal health information including allergies, and emergency contacts for your own tracking purposes.




Yes, parents and legal guardians can have access to the health information of their children under the age of 14, including proof of COVID-19 vaccination information. Please note that once your child turns 14, they will have to sign up for their own MySaskHealthRecord account and you will no longer have access to their health information in MySaskHealthRecord. For parents/guardians ineligible for or unable to access MySaskHealthRecord, a manual process is available to receive the COVID-19 vaccination record of a child under age 14.




Parents and legal guardians who want access to their child(ren)’s health information in MySaskHealthRecord must have their own MySaskHealthRecord account, as your child’s health information will be directly connected to your account. If you do not already have a MySaskHealthRecord account, you can sign up at eHealthSask.ca.


You will need to complete a request form: Request for Access to Child's MySaskHealthRecord at eHealthSask.ca.


Parents and legal guardians will then need to submit proof of parentage/guardianship documentation with their completed request form. They can refer to Section 3 of the form, but some examples include a long-form birth certificate, adoption order or guardianship order. If you do not have proof of parentage and your child was born in Saskatchewan, eHealth has developed an interim process where an eligible person can provide authorization for Vital Statistics to provide verification of proof of parentage. Once the request has been received, the eHealth Privacy Service will complete the request. Once the account is linked, parents/guardians are notified. They can then log into their MySaskHealthRecord account and click/tap the round green button (top right of the screen) containing their personal initials, to call up a menu and access the child’s information. For parents/guardians ineligible for or unable to access MySaskHealthRecord, a manual process is available to receive the COVID-19 vaccination record with QR code of a child under age 14.




When your child turns 14 years old, they can sign up for their own MySaskHealthRecord account by following the regular sign up process. A free non-driver’s photo ID from SGI is required to validate your child’s identity during account creation.


As the parent of a 14 year old, you will receive an email from our Service Desk stating that you no longer have access to your child’s health information through your MySaskHealthRecord account. Your child will be able to share their MySaskHealthRecord account with you by clicking on the “Account” drop down in the top right corner of MySaskHealthRecord. They simply select “Share Record” and follow the steps outlined on the page. This feature will allow them to share their MySaskHealthRecord with you or anyone else who has a MySaskHealthRecord account.

You are in control of who views your personal health information on MySaskHealthRecord. All personal information is stored securely and can only be accessed by individual users through a highly secure, personalized login. eHealth Saskatchewan has taken the reasonable steps to assist in the protection of its users' information, including the use of firewall technology and the implementation of internal security policies and procedures. eHealth Saskatchewan will continue to monitor security risks and concerns and will update and implement security measures as appropriate and practical to do so.




No, all self-entered information such as allergies, medical conditions, etc., will remain in MySaskHealthRecord and will not be sent to your doctor.



eHealth remains committed to protecting the privacy of medical records placed in its trust and restoring public confidence in eHealth’s operations and management.

Since the discovery of the ransomware attack, eHealth has been constantly monitoring for any sign that Saskatchewan records have been released or used for illegal purposes. There has been no sign this has taken place, and monitoring by specialized firms will continue for the foreseeable future.

In accordance with public comments made by Saskatchewan’s Minister of Health on January 8th 2021, eHealth undertakes to immediately notify individual citizens, if any evidence is detected suggesting their information has found its way into improper hands.
