Preparing for Implementation

As detailed in our news section, we will be starting our phased implementation in early 2024 in Regina. Work has begun to engage with Regina-based healthcare professionals, coroners, physicians and funeral directors to finalize approaches to training and implementation.

We would like to thank our Regina stakeholders for appointing their Authorized Approvers and being supportive as we finalize our onboarding processes. This work will begin in Saskatoon and area in February 2024 and other health regions throughout the province shortly thereafter.

We are committed to minimizing the amount of asks of organizations and providing easy-to-use instructions and templates to facilitate this work. We expect that onboarding your organization to EDRN will not take more than a few hours of effort prior to implementation.

The EDRN team will work with organizations as follows:

  • We will collaborate with appointed representatives (leads, authorized approvers, directors, etc.) to validate the users within the site/facility who require access to EDRN, and what kind of access they need;
  • We will provide specific implementation steps and communications materials to help support implementation and get the word out to users;
  • We will finalize the training approach for the site/facility.
  • We will provide instruction for what to do in common situations and how to place support calls.
We will begin posting more detailed implementation details and guides shortly.

EDRN Implementation Begins In Early 2024 in Regina

We are pleased to announce that the EDRN website is on schedule to be released in early 2024. As testing and validation activities are still underway, we will communicate a Go-Live date once we are certain the website can be successfully launched on that date.

To ensure that the EDRN project team can provide appropriate training and support to sites going live, we will be developing an and executing a phased implementation schedule, starting with Regina sites and facilities.

Once Regina sites and facilities have gone live and are stabilized, we will proceed with implementation in Saskatoon, followed by rural areas. We expect to stabilize in each region and roll on to the next region within weeks.

We would like to thank our stakeholders in Regina who have met with us and assisted us in developing an implementation strategy, including Saskatchewan Health Authority Practitioner Affairs, Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals, Wescana Long-Term Care, Regina Funeral Home, Speers Funeral Chapel, the Saskatchewan Coroners' Service and countless others.

We will begin the process of reaching out to sites and facilities in Saskatoon in the next several weeks.

Request an EDRN Demo In Regina

We are currently delivering further EDRN demos in limited quantities in Regina in preparation for our fall implementation.

Please send requests for demos to the EDRN team, and note the following:

  • Demos can take place at our Regina office, or at a site/facility within Regina (demos in other cities will occur at a later date);
  • We are looking for a range of hospital units, funeral homes, long term care centres and medical clinics. However, due to the level of effort required to prepare and deliver a demo, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all requests.
