The EDRN team continues to work on finalizing the EDRN website, with a launch date now expected in early 2024.
We will begin releasing specific implementation guidelines and educational materials in the next few weeks. Please check back to this Infosite often, as this will be how we broadly communicate news and information about EDRN until such time as the EDRN website goes live throughout the province. EDRN will begin by implementing the EDRN website in Regina-based facilities (hospitals, long-term care homes, funeral homes, etc.). We will then review, prepare, and then move on to facilities in the Saskatoon area, with further announcements forthcoming. We recognize that in some cases, EDRN workflows extend across geographic boundaries, such as when a decedent passes away in an urban area and is transported to a funeral home in a rural area, and this will result in some workflow gaps at implementation. To minimize these gaps to the extent possible, the EDRN team will be quickly activating EDRN in other administrative regions following the Regina launch; we are expecting our launch waves to only be several weeks apart. We understand that you are eager to transition to EDRN to take advantage of new electronic tools and workflow integration. We're excited too! While we finalize the EDRN website, we will be reaching out to various facilities and organizations to validate their user lists and ensure that EDRN users have signed an appropriate User Request Form. Providing quick, accurate turnaround of this information will help the EDRN team quickly roll out EDRN across the province as soon as possible. Please see our Implementation guidance page for more details. As always, please send any questions to EDRN@ehealthsask.ca. We appreciate your input and support!
