Implementing EDRN
This section contains details on how to fully onboard your site, facility, unit or organization onto EDRN. Continue watching this space for an implementation guide that you will be able to download to support this process.
The section below provides a summary of our Implementation Guide. You may download a copy of our full Implementation Guide here[CCe1] .
1. Provide your Organization's Information and Identify Your Authorized Approver You will need to notify the EDRN team of your organization's authorized approver and address information at the top of the EDRN user list validation sheet, available here[CCe2] . This validation sheet will also be used for step 2 below. 2. Identify Your Users and Define Their Roles Properly identifying your users is an essential step to ensuring that they can fully access the EDRN website when your organization goes live, and that they have all the accesses they need to do their work. Enter the appropriate information in the validation spreadsheet. If you have any questions, please refer to the implementation guide or contact the EDRN team. 3. Ensure that Users Complete EDRN Account Request Forms. All users must complete a User Account Request Form, available here[CCe3] . The form must be completed and signed by the end user, then signed off by the organization's Authorized Approver, then forwarded to the eHealth Saskatchewan Service Desk[CCe4] . 4. Coordinate Training (Optional/If Required) Contact the EDRN team for support in preparing your organization to use EDRN once it is implemented. The EDRN team will offer education in various formats leading up to implementation. These may include: In-person or virtual instructor-led sessions Train-the-trainer training for site-based resources to deliver their own training Visual aids and documentation to support system use

5. Spread the Word!
The EDRN team will provide documentation to disseminate to your organization, including job aids, Q and As, and support instructions. Organizational representatives can support EDRN by making sure this material and information is accessible to staff and help to answer any questions. 6. Develop and Implement Future State Processes Your organization will likely require process, standard and workflow updates to optimize use of EDRN. These may include: Process for informing the Vital Statistics Office of additions, deletions or changes to the EDRN user list; Process for site-level communications and handoffs; Standard to determine when an interim Medical Certificate of Death would be used; Process for onboarding and educating new staff onto EDRN.
Should you have questions about how to optimize use of EDRN, please contact the EDRN team.
